We invite you to 2022 (eng)aging! conference held under the title ”Active Ageing through Innovation: Learning from the Covid-19 Pandemic" on June 8–9, 2022, which will focus on innovative solutions to overcome the uncertainties and challenges posed to older people by the COVID-19 pandemic. We are calling for papers that will contribute to a critical examination of the following topics:

1. Lessons from the COVID-19 PandemicA detailed and complete picture of the impact of the pandemic on individual lives in all age groups should form the basis for the analysis and revision of international and national policy actions on ageing. What have we learnt to be better prepared for the next pandemic and to be able to protect the older members of society? What are the areas for improvement?2. Ageism and Technology GapThe response to the COVID-19 pandemic has unveiled just how widespread ageism is in our society. Various forms of ageism, from domestic violence proliferated during lockdowns to age-based triage of COVID patients in health care institutions, have exacerbated the victimization of older members of society. The pandemic and its general shift to digital life have deepened social exclusion of older people and accelerated the need to narrow the technology gap for older adults. How should ageism and social exclusion be combatted? How can digital inclusivity and literacy among older people be increased?3. Evaluation and Adjustment of International Frameworks for Policy Actions on AgeingThe Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing (MIPAA) and the WHO strategy for active ageing have outlined approaches and proposed concrete actions for governments, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders to address the needs and expectations of older citizens and to harmonize societal ageing and development. In 2022, we will observe the twentieth anniversary of both the MIPAA and the Active Ageing strategy. The final stage of the fourth review and appraisal of the implementation of the MIPAA will be conducted in 2022 at the regional and global levels. This will provide an opportunity for a thoughtful evaluation and possible re-launch of international policy actions on ageing which should take into consideration the lessons of the pandemic and post-pandemic reality.

We welcome abstracts from scholars and researchers from any discipline, inter-discipline, or scholarly field. Submission deadline is March 15, 2022.Within Technology Fair, associated event of the conference, technological products and innovations focused on older persons and their specific needs will be presented. For more info visit www.engagingprague.com.
